Anacortes Veterans Parade & Static Event

It is our Mission to Honor & Support our Veterans while building our Community around them. Through education and fellowship without political agendas, we can find common ground and unite together in a time needed most.

2025 Grand Marshal Nomination

Do you know a Veteran who would be the best person to lead the First Annual Veterans Parade?

A Grand Marshall is a person who will lead the parade as an honor. Whose qualities include being highly involved in the community, exemplifying good moral character, and American Veteran who loves America. This chosen person gives their time, talent and energy to make our community a better place to live. The Grand Marshal of the Anacortes Veterans Parade will be chosen each year by members of the Anacortes Veterans Parade committee, based on the information provided.

This person will not only lead the parade, but also be honored at the Veteran Parade Static Display following the parade and be honored at the Veterans Dinner & Fellowship Event. They will also be highlighted on our website as the Grand Marshall of our First Annual Anacortes Veterans Parade.

The deadline to submit a nomination is September 1st, 2025.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

  • Drive a Veteran

    Honor a Veteran and show off your vehicle in the parade! Do you have a classic or muscle car, a convertible, trolly car, horse drawn carriage, or other car that you would like to drive or have driven in the parade? We would love to help you show off your vehicle as we honor and solute our Veterans. They have done enough to serve us, help us serve and celebrate them as they can sit back and receive that well deserved honor.

  • Veterans Parade Float Contest

    We have much need and wish to make this event a community celebration honoring our Veterans past and present. It's our goal with this contest to bring community together and teach our K-12 how to honor our Veterans, while helping to raise up leaders while saying Thank You to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms. 

    The Veteran's Float Contest is open to anyone to join, as there will be different 2 brackets to compete for the best float.

  • Store Front Competition

    Are you a business with a store front in Anacortes? If so, we are doing something extra fun this year. Whoever has the most patriotic and Veteran welcoming storefront will win this year’s AVPEA’s Storefront Competition.

    The storefront will need to be facing commercial to register and will need to be on display for the from 11/7/25-11/15/2025.

    Do you have a special Veteran that you would like to honor this Veterans Day weekend? We are excited to announce that we are adding a section in our AVPEA event program for Veterans tributes.

    We are blessed to have our Veterans in our community, this tribute helps others get to know your special Veteran in a new light. We are very excited to honor your Veteran this year.
